The Burchfield-Penney Art Center is a museum dedicated to the art of distinguished artists of Buffalo, Niagara, and western New York State. Through its affiliation with Buffalo State College, the museum encourages learning and celebrates its richly creative and diverse community. Original sculptures and art cars, created by artists with ties to the Buffalo Niagara region, were placed at 57 sites of cultural, historical, or heritage interest to make up a cultural arts trail. Arts trail adventurers who visited even a portion of the sites had world-class art experiences, rode vintage merry-go-rounds, traveled along the Erie Canal, and learned of the region's prominent role in the history of the automobile.
